The Discovery Channel have decided not to air a program about Michael Jackson’s Autopsy after coming under fire from Michael Jackson’s fans and estate.
The estate of Michael Jackson had written a letter on Wednesday to Discovery Communications, condemning the channel’s “blind desire to exploit Michael’s death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value.”. Creators of the program were further disparaged for airing the program’s European promotional advertisement, which displays Jackson’s trademark glove appearing from underneath a coroner’s white draping sheet.
Executors of Michael Jackson’s estate said fans were instrumental in encouraging The Discovery Channel to abandon the program.
“While Discovery cited legal proceedings and our request as the reasons for its decision, none of this would have happened had it not been for the incredible passion displayed by countless Michael Jackson fans worldwide who knew they stood as one and that their voices could not be ignored,”
